ABOUT

DRIFTWOOD is the Belgian-American collaboration led by the artistic duo comprising architect-musician Sam De Bock and musician-composer Patricia Vanneste (Sohnarr, Hydrogen Sea, ex-Balthazar).

Featuring a lineup of world-class musicians including Joey Waronker (Beck, Atoms For Peace, Thom Yorke, R.E.M.), Timothy Lefebvre (David Bowie, Elvis Costello, The Black Crowes, Sting), and Donny McCaslin (David Bowie, Dave Douglas, Sun Kil Moon), it's no surprise that this band aims to create a distinct sound. The combination of Vanneste's melodious expression and De Bock's intricate, collage-like approach results in a unique harmony that resonates with the styles of Massive Attack, Tricky, Lamb, and Mark Lanegan.

Their debut album, 'Only Fighters Left Behind,' was released in February 2020 and was met with rave reviews. The album proved to be an at times pitch-black examination of the consequences of loss, fear, inadequacy and their own disgust.

Currently, DRIFTWOOD is in the final stages of completing their second full album, expected to be released in autumn 2024.
